Mighty Whites
In a visual tribute to the snow capped Himalayan peaks , these
paintings are rendered in marble dust, acrylic and pastels. Marble
dust comes closest in materiality to snow by its texture, reflectivity
and lustre. The random irregular vertical grouping of the panels in
each composition also mimics the cragged mountain formation.
The overall white composition of the snow peaks playing hide and seek
in the everpresent white clouds makes it almost invisible except for
the experience of light, shadow and textures
