The ubiquitous Champa Tree or the temple tree, found widely all across the Asian sub-continent is perhaps the most iconic of Alex Davis's sculptural installations in steel by far.
The winter tree is so architectural in its formation with a composite compilation of arcs forming the soft and sensuous branches which fans out towards the top giving it its archetypical canopy. The hemispherical tips of the branches add to this visual softness.
The natural undulation & indentation of the branches of the Champa tree is exquisitely hand crafted in polished stainless steel by Alex and a team of his expert craftsmen who have been working with him for a long period of time.
